Navy Next Generation Career Management Passage Plan Infographic

Synergy Group were engaged to support the Navy People Career Management Agency to implement the next generation of career management that centred on more services at the waterfront via the key Naval sites around Australia, making use of the entire Navy workforce.

I was tasked with the design and development of the Next Generation Career Management Passage Plan infographic. The intent of the infographic was to demonstrate the link between the CCM who took care of Navy’s Strategic Career Management at the highest level, the Local Career Management agencies dispersed throughout Australia, as well as the intricacies and linkages of the wider Navy career management network.

Working closely with the client and my fellow Synergy colleagues, I took the time to interpret a selection of hand-drawn whiteboard and paper sketches, articulating how the network functioned and connected. I then developed a series of high-level wireframes representing the Passage Plan eco-system. As the ecosystem is intricate and highly detailed, this took several co-designing sessions with the client, going through many revisions.

Once the structure was correct, I began to apply an isometric design over the top. Sourcing hundreds of pre-made digital vectors to aid me in the build, I used these as my foundations for customisation. Using source photography of different Navy uniforms, Navy marine vessels and a Navy helicopter, I used these as references as I customised each isometric digital vector manually. Every detail in this infographic was custom built to represent Navy in its most accurate form.

Finally, I applied an interactive PDF component allowing users to click on the TWS Manager and Local Career Manager, taking them to a page that described their role.
